Cheap And Good Hotels Are Not Impossible

Do you ever wonder how a hotel is able to become good or to what extent the price has to go before it becomes \”cheap\”? There will be places to stay no matter where you go. You may be discouraged along the way when you try to find somewhere to lodge that is in your price range and has the right facilities for you. Though, keep your hopes up for we can give you advice.

One has to have a reason for going to the hotel before he/she goes. If the person is going on a honeymoon with his/her lover, the hotel would probably be elegant and filled with luxuries. If the person just wants a place for bed and breakfast, he/she would choose one with maids to wait on the person. One who is a businessman will want a hotel that has an area where he can work on business matters. A commuter that travels in season and someone with little money would like a basic place only for sleeping in. Without an explanation on why the person is going to the hotel, one will never find a cheap one for his/her needs.

The person has to make a decision on what a \”good\” hotel is, even if it is just somewhere with a clean restroom and bedding that has helpful hotel staff. One can choose whether to spend their hotel day with or without an outside view, mini-bar with lots of food, and television with adult content. The person could be satisfied to have these privileges elsewhere, such as their home for example, and may just want a place to go to bed at night.

I understand that hotels need to make money outside of the room charges. Paying $4 for a can of soda, $6 for a bar of candy, or $12 for a movie on TV, however, seems criminal to me. It’s not that I’m tight with money. I’m not. If I want something, I’ll buy it. I just won’t blindly pay whatever is being asked for it just because it’s there at the time. Travellers tip number one. If you, or your family, like candy, soda, or the occasional adult beverage, pick some up from a convenience store before you check in and have them at the ready if you need them.

You may want to go to a motel that is in a well known area because it may be less expensive, unless you want a bed and breakfast one. Therefore, try to find a hotel near huge traffic areas, airports, or industrial areas. You should probably make sure you see the room as well before you stay in it. It is good to ask if a room is available and then if you could see it. You will be handed a key to a clean and quiet room probably. After you decide if you like it or not, you can register for it or ask for another room.

I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels in my time. I’ve come to have an expectation of how much a room is worth to me, and at what point I will need to spend more elsewhere to get what I need to suitably rest. I’ve been more than happy with a particular chain of budget motels over the years. With the exception of one, they’ve all provided me with my minimum requirements and all at less than $50 per night. That is my idea of ideal, not necessarily just cheap. I’m happy to pay around $75 per night if the location is closer to where I need to be, or if the room includes my breakfast. Under those circumstances, however, the hotel is probably going to fall into a slightly higher category than just \”good.\”

Every person expects different things than another person would. Some individuals have even treated staff of the hotel as if the staff were somewhat lower than themselves while others treat everyone equally. Being respectful and polite, however, are the key things to having a wonderful hotel stay. One could not go wrong if he/she is courteous.

There are plenty of reasons to stay in hotels and bed and breakfast inns. Everyone will have their own reasons for doing so. If you’re just after a place to rest, and aren’t interested in the bells, whistles, and a copious number of stars in a rating, then you should be able to find good establishments that are within your budget. It is difficult to remember when exactly the mode of traveling by trains started; it is so long since trains have come into existence! But this is one of the oldest methods of traveling from one place to another. If you are a person who loves to travel at a leisurely pace, then a train journey can be most rewarding. I have been on very few train trips where I have been ticketless before getting on board. No railway companies like passengers to get on without usually purchasing a ticket beforehand. In India, you may just get away without paying if you enjoy riding on the roof, but in many countries fines are high for without a valid ticket. The same rule applies for second-class passengers trying to ride in first-class carriages without a proper ticket.

Train trips can be incredibly cheap, particularly in developing countries. With the exception of the US and some parts of Europe, first-class accommodation is normally quite affordable and exponentially more pleasant than travelling in second-class. There is now a proliferation of discounted tickets available either online or at stations. Age, time and day of the week, advance purchase and duration of journey - all have bearing on the price of the train trips. Tickets that allow you to “rove” around the country are usually very good value for money, but finding the best buys is not always easy and it is recommended that you seek out travel agents that specialize in train trips first.

Food is very important when going on a long train journey. Long-distance trains have a dining car on the train itself or fix up catering services that supply food on board at the right times, to the passengers. In case these facilities are lacking, there are always restaurants at railway stations. By keeping track of the route of the train, it is possible to know where and when one can get food. Of course, passengers with sensitive stomachs have to be careful what they eat and drink, because it is most unpleasant to be sick on a “moving” journey!

People tend to make their train journeys unpleasant by lugging too much of luggage with them. They believe that porters being there to help with the luggage, it is quite alright. What they forget is that the journey itself can become unpleasant if one has to sit, surrounded with loads of luggage. It is universally believed that one should travel light. What is absolutely necessary is to be carried, bearing the climatic conditions and the duration of the journey in mind.
